Vendor Biography

Lorraine Shumake

Welcome to my world of sea glass, pebble and driftwood framed art.

I have beach combed at my family’s Bellingham waterfront property for over 60 years.  We all collected agates, sea glass, driftwood and shells.  My home is now on that beach property and my husband, Bob, and I still beach comb.  The sea glass found on our beach was plentiful at one time, and usually well frosted.  Presently, the sea glass is nearly non-existent and it seems the driftwood is disappearing as well.  They are now considered beach treasures and everyone enjoys collecting them.  I truly love using these precious pieces in my art.

I house my sea glass, pebble and driftwood artwork in wooden frames along with art that I’ve created for the backgrounds.  Each piece comes from memories of my life experiences in and around the Puget Sound, living on the water with a fantastic beach in front.

My idea for this art was developed in 2017.  My husband and I started offering it for purchase in 2018.  I love expressing my life in my art. Perhaps you will love it too!
